Dhaalu Atoll

Dhaalu Atoll, or Southern Nilandhe Atoll, is an administrative division in the southern Maldives, spanning 56 islands, with seven inhabited and a population of about 6,694.

The capital, Kudahuvadhoo, at the atoll’s southern tip, is famed for its historical landmarks, including the ancient Kudahuvadhoo Buddhist Stupa and the coral stone Kudahuvadhoo Mosque. Other notable islands include Meedhoo, with its eco-center and diverse marine life, and Gemendhoo, known for its sandbanks and lagoons.
