Vaavu Atoll, or Felidhu Atoll, is the Maldives’ smallest administrative atoll by population, with around 5,000 residents across six inhabited islands. Located 40 miles from Malé, it comprises two natural atolls: Felidhu Atoll with 35 islands and Vattaru Reef, an egg-shaped atoll with rich marine life.
The atoll is famous for its clear waters, coral reefs, and beaches. Key attractions include the 17th-century Hukuru Miskiy mosque on Felidhoo and Fottheyo Muli, the Maldives’ easternmost point. Accessible by speedboat or dhoni, Vaavu offers a mix of natural beauty and cultural heritage for an unforgettable experience.
